If your club director invited you to evaluate players, you're in the right place. This guide covers what SportFormIQ is, how to set up your account, and the basics every coach should know before stepping on the field.
SportFormIQ is a player evaluation platform that your club uses to make decisions about teams, development, and player feedback. Instead of paper forms or text messages, you'll rate players on six categories using your phone, and your club director will use the combined scores to make final decisions.
You don't need to be technical. The app is designed for use on the field, with one hand, in 60 seconds or less per player.
Your club director sent you an invitation by email. The email came from SportFormIQ and contains a one-click link to set up your account.
If you can't find the email, check your spam folder. If it's not there, contact your director, they can resend the invitation from inside the app.
SportFormIQ runs in your phone's web browser. You can use it that way forever, but installing it as an app on your home screen makes it work better, including the ability to run without an internet connection.
sportformiq-app.vercel.app in Safari (not Chrome)sportformiq-app.vercel.app in ChromeOnce installed this way, SportFormIQ will work even with no cell signal or WiFi. Your evaluations save locally and sync automatically when you're back online. This is critical for fields with bad reception.
For each player you're assigned, you'll tap into their profile and rate them across six categories:
For each category, you pick one of three ratings:
Then add an optional short note, mark a decision (Invite, Hold, or Cut), and save. The next player loads automatically.
Trust your eye. Don't bunch everyone in the middle to be safe. A pile of "At" ratings tells the director nothing, and the player nothing about how to develop. Use the full range honestly.
If you're unsure what "Below" or "Exceeds" should look like for a given category and age group, tap the ⓘ icon next to any category name. A slide-up panel will show you:
The anchors are age-band-specific. A U10 player's "At" is different from a U16 player's "At", the modal automatically shows the right description for the player's age.
Most youth soccer fields have unreliable cell signal. SportFormIQ is built to keep working anyway.
When you lose signal, a small offline indicator appears at the top of the screen. You can keep evaluating players exactly as before, your work saves locally on your phone. When signal returns, evaluations sync to your club's records automatically. You don't have to do anything to make this work.
If you uninstall the app or clear your browser data while offline, any un-synced evaluations will be lost. As long as you keep the app installed and don't manually clear data, your work is safe.
Player evaluations are confidential. You can only see players you're assigned to, never the whole club roster. Other coaches can only see their assigned players. Only the director sees results across all coaches.
Don't discuss specific player ratings outside the coaching team. If a parent asks about their child's evaluation, refer them to the director rather than sharing details yourself.
Your director is your first line of help. They know the session, the players, and how decisions get made. Their phone number should be on whatever pre-tryout note they sent you, text or call them first.
If something is genuinely broken (the app won't load, your account isn't working, evaluations aren't saving), email support@sportformiq.com. Mention your club name and the issue. SportFormIQ responds within 24 hours during weekdays and the same day for tryout-day issues.
The basics above apply everywhere. For workflow-specific guides, what to do at a tryout vs. a camp vs. a season evaluation, pick your situation below.
